Friday and Saturday brought a storm of girls’ flag football games across Southern California, and the mix was wild—some blowouts, some nail-biters, and plenty of teams showing they’re the real deal.

Friday’s Results
The City Section came out hot. Chavez wasted no time, putting up 49 points on Westbrook. L.A. Wilson wasn’t far behind, blasting Los Angeles 60–0, and Lincoln matched that exact score against Hollywood. But the talk of the night? New Designs University Park. They shut out Chavez 12–0 and then hammered Westbrook 42–0—two wins, zero points allowed. Stern barely slipped past Sotomayor 13–7 in the closest game of the bunch.

The Southern Section was a rollercoaster. Artesia beat Whitney 25–13, but Cypress stole the spotlight with a crazy 27–26 thriller over Edison, then handled Tesoro 32–12. Edison bounced back hard, shutting out Channel Islands 38–0. El Toro hung on against Villa Park 28–19, while Fullerton completely dismantled Tustin 50–0. Gahr scraped by El Toro 7–0, but then lost a tight one to Villa Park 12–9. Huntington Beach looked sharp against Northwood, winning 41–13, and Godinez rolled past Santiago 20–6.

In intersectional action, Camarillo beat LA Marshall 26–13. Etiwanda went 2-for-2, surviving Marshall 13–6 and knocking off Torrey Pines 30–20. Huntington Beach kept its winning ways alive with a 27–11 victory over McClatchy. And Redondo Union? They escaped with a 7–6 nail-biter against Banning.

Saturday’s Results
Saturday didn’t slow down. Van Nuys kept it simple and clean in the City Section—two games, two shutouts. A 6–0 win over Sun Valley Poly and a 13–0 win over Chatsworth.

The Southern Section, though, was pure chaos. Corona Centennial edged Ramona 13–12, then got shut down by Mission Viejo 6–0. Mission Viejo wasn’t done either, sneaking past Temecula Prep 7–6 in another tight one. Cypress stayed red hot, pulling off back-to-back thrillers over El Toro (34–30) and Edison (16–14). Dana Hills took care of Fairmont Prep 31–6, and Del Sol shut out Bishop Diego 18–0.

Edison got back on track with wins over Channel Islands and Villa Park, while El Toro shook off Friday’s loss by shutting out Tesoro 14–0. Etiwanda had a mixed day—beating Western Christian but falling twice to Huntington Beach. Speaking of Huntington Beach, they were everywhere, grabbing wins over Camarillo and Marshall to cap a dominant weekend.

Elsewhere, Mater Dei powered past San Ysidro 35–21, Monrovia smothered Temple City 26–6, and South Hills tore through Rancho Cucamonga, San Dimas, and West Covina—three wins, all by big margins.

And then there was Ventura. Maybe the weekend’s biggest winner, they stacked up four victories in two days—squeaking by Los Gatos and Milpitas, then cruising against Independence and Presentation. Eagle Rock closed the book on the weekend with a strong 35–6 win over Castaic.

All in all? A weekend full of fireworks. Some teams proved they’re on another level, others showed they can hang in the clutch. And with weeks like this, it’s clear girls’ flag football is only getting tougher, faster, and a whole lot more fun to watch.
